On the 26th December 2018 the UK Government announced a £675 million Future High Street Fund: call for proposals. The Future High Streets Fund will support and fund local area plans to make their high streets and downtowns fit for the future.
During January and February 2019 there have been a series of workshops and seminars to assist Local Authorities to ensure they submit a strong proposal and Springboard have been delighted to support these, including the one day seminar hosted by the Institute of Place Management on 21st February 2019.
The expression of interest application that Local Authorities have to submit before the deadline of 22 March 2019 asks for the following information:
- Section 1.2 Population and links to wider economic area: With supporting evidence to include: Town Center pedescrian counts, commercial space & retail activity (10% weighting)
- Section 2.1 Challenges. Supporting evidence on the challenges facing areas could cover the following: Pedestrian flows and footfall trends and Proportion and/or number of vacant properties. (30% weighting)
To make sure all Springboard clients have the data required to submit a response to these two sections we have a team of analysts on hand to support you with your data requirements. We are currently producing long term trend analysis for both pedestrians and vacancy rates, benchmarks for regional and national trends and day part split data.
This service is provided free of charge to clients. If you require support with your data as part of the expressions of interest application process do not hesitate to contact the team with your requirements:
