Main purpose of job:

  • The Security Camera Engineer will act as the primary point for all technical requests focal point for all technical requests from USA-based team. The incumbent will also undertake as required site surveys, preventative maintenance and fault call outs.
  • Assist in the success of the customer relationship.
  • Provide business sign-off that any works undertaken have met required standards.
  • The incumbent will use their site experience to provide insights as required.
  • Support the local sales function.
  • Provide to TSM the performance of the USA Ops team using defined metrics for onward reporting into COO. 

 

Main duties:

  • Safety is our number one priority. Follow safe work practices and company and client work site policies.
  • Assists the sales organization by attending site-walk and pre-bid meetings, documenting site conditions for use in the development of accurate cost estimates.
  • Assist sales with RFP bid specifications, writing scope of work, developing cost estimates, predicting the duration of the project, and including contingencies.
  • Undertake sales surveys where required providing US sales team with marked up drawings, plans and kit list to enable proposals to be drafted in a timely manner.
  • Undertake full technical surveys where required. This should include all aspects from an engineering perspective including, but not limited to; cable runs, counter location mounts, counter types, networking requirements.
  • Assign work to third party engineering resource where required.
  • Perform PPM activities for all counters across the territory.
  • Represent the business at site / client meetings offering technical insight.
  • Audit works undertaken by engineering partner for quality and consistency.
  • Undertake solution installations and counter commissioning.
  • Undertake triage and fault call outs to seek a resolution for counters that are offline.
  • Manage the resolution of all internal data queries raised within defined SLA’s
  • Deliver ad hoc reports for TSM and COO
  • Act as Project Manager where required for client works.

Person Specification:

  • Safety is our number one priority. Follow safe work practices and company and client work site policies.
  • Must have the proven ability to design, engineer, estimate, and develop written and graphic representation of the company’s proposed solutions utilizing the software resources provided by the company.
  • Can read construction / floor plans.
  • Experience of ELV (Electrical Low Voltage), Security, Digital & Basic Networking System.
  • Understanding of LAN and WAN topologies for security systems including switches, routers, and firewalls. Some IP networking knowledge.
  • Logical approach to fault finding.
  • An understanding of pedestrian / shopper counting solutions would be ideal but not essential.
  • 4+ years of engineering / site experience.
  • Must be professional in conduct and practice, and also reliable.
  • Must have an inquisitive attitude to problem solving.
  • Creative, responsive and adaptive in a dynamic environment.
  • Must have the aptitude and desire to learn new competencies and skills.
  • Ability to independently, resourcefully, and creatively research and implement new solutions.
  • Interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willing to travel nationwide.
