Retail Parks
Springboard Pedestriancounting system Benchmarking Key Performance Indicators in a Retail Park Environment Many retail parks of today comprise a blend of high street and out of town retailers, with an increasingly diverse retail offer. This, combined with their increased asset value, has meant that greater emphasis is being placed on performance measurement and enhancement. The external nature of retail parks suggests that they are more akin to high streets than shopping centres, although there is clearly a far greater dominance of car-borne customers. Springboard's Retail Park Counting service takes this into account by encompassing both car and customer counting.

Car counting monitors the number of car trips to a retail park so that the overall volume of activity can be monitored, whilst customer counting monitors the number of visits to individual outlets on the park. Either aspect provides an accurate measure of the park's overall performance, however their combination generates a 'dwell time ratio'. This significantly enhances the measurement of performance by providing a consistent indicator of the ability of the park to attract and retain its customers.
